Knowing God

One has always wondered, who am I , where have I come from, is there a purpose to life, where am I headed, is there a God?

We all at sometime or the other ask these questions. I have been asking this question too, since a long time and once reading Sura Yaseen in the Quran cam across an ayat that read as follows:

Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop – then at once he is a clear adversary? And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, “Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?”

Say, “He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing.” [It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite.

His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, “Be,” and it is. So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned. (Al-Quran Yasin 36: 77-83)

Thinking about this I saw this You tube video yesterday and it made sense and humbled me, that look at man, forgetting his own creation and thinks he can understands One who created him with a limited mind and intellect.

O woe on me , that we think of the Creator based on our imagination as a larger human form perhaps, A god of our own understanding. But this is natural, like when reading a book with an invisible author and characters, we give them form, so too, we think of god such.

But the way out is knowing that this is your own version of God and not God himself. None knows him as He is.. We all find our own ways to relate to Him and I am sure He knows it too and understands.
